Two students sexually assaulted in Civitanova Marche, repeat offender under house arrest

At the sight of two girls, one of whom was a minor, a molester had attacked them, violently groping them in their intimate areas and in several parts of their bodies. The man had then shown his genitals to the victims and simulated an act of masturbation, before running away and disappearing on a bicycle through the city streets. It all happened on the morning between 15 and 16 August 2024 near an underpass on the northern seafront of Civitanova Marche.

The Carabinieri arrested the person responsible, a 27-year-old resident of Fermo. The arrest was carried out yesterday around 7:00 p.m. Both victims had contacted the Carabinieri station reporting the incident. The investigations, also carried out through the examination of witnesses and the analysis of video surveillance systemshave allowed the person responsible to be identified and the judicial authority to be asked to issue a precautionary measure. The arrested person, who will have to answer for the crimes of sexual violence and sexual assault aggravated on a minor, was subjected to the measure of house arrest with electronic bracelet.

The two women did not suffer any injuries. Although they were shocked and traumatized by the event, they were able to provide a detailed description of the attacker which, combined with the elements that emerged from the analysis of the city video surveillance system and the information acquired on the field by the carabinieri, had allowed them to quickly locate and identify the molester, discovering that the man had already been responsible for episodes of this kind in the past. The 27-year-old was reported to the judicial authorities and then arrested.
