He was manoeuvring with the tractor and hit and killed his father in the farmyard of the family business. It happened this morning at eleven in a farmhouse in Motta Baluffi, in the province of Cremona. The victim is a 76-year-old farmer. According to the investigations carried out by the Carabinieri, who remained on the farm for a long time together with the inspectors of the ATS Val Padana to carry out surveys and collect testimonies, the father and son were working together. Specifically, they were supposedly carrying out some material moving work.
There are two hypotheses being examined by the investigators: the 76-year-old could have suddenly crossed the path of the moving tractor, or bent over to move something on the ground, and the son would not have had the time and the necessary visibility to notice the presence of his parent; or, instead, the driver, in reverse, he may have had less than perfect visibility due to the type of maneuver he was carrying outhowever not enough to notice the father behind. The alarm was raised, immediately launched by the victim’s son, and the Cremona Soccorso di Vescovato rescuers arrived on the scene with an ambulance and the 118 medical car personnel. But for the 76-year-old, despite the long attempt to revive him, there was nothing that could be done.
