Dives into Serchio River and Doesn't Resurface. 29-Year-Old Dies in Lucca

A 29-year-old man died after diving into the waters of the Serchio River, in Lucca, Tuscany. Police and firefighters intervened this morning, in via della Scogliera in Nave, to recover the body. According to initial reconstructions, the 29-year-old, North African, had gone with a friend to seek refreshment on the banks of the river, in a rather busy area, approximately 3 km as the crow flies from the historic centerIt is a stretch where the current is strong and the water is very cold.

The two dived around 10 and the 29-year-old did not resurface. His friend raised the alarm, emergency services arrived on site but there was nothing they could do for the young man.
