Kidnapped by his father when he was 8, he returns home 13 years later. His mother’s message: “Now is the time to rebuild our lives”

He had been kidnapped by his father 13 years ago, when he was eight years old, in Santo Domingo. Now, Dorian Dorrejo has 20 and he came back to hug his mother, Mary Virginiawho had never stopped looking for him, sure that he would come back to her.

So it was. And the same woman wanted to share the joy of this very sweet moment on the Facebook page dedicated to the search: “With great joy, I share with you that I have finally met my son Dorian – the post reads -. I deeply thank all the people, institutions and media for your support during these 13 years of tireless search. As a mother, I ask you to be empathetic with him and our family and respect our privacy. Now is the time to rebuild our lives with love and tranquility”.

It was 2011 when Dorian had been taken away from Santo Domingo by his father, Marco Aurelio Giuseppe Streit. The man had already tried once, fortunately without success, to kidnap his son, but he had been arrested shortly after. The following year, he escaped, this time successfully, thanks to the use of false passports. From that moment on, no more news had been received of Dorian.

The mother, however, he never stopped researching. And, in fact, a few months ago he had released a new flyer with a reconstruction of Dorian’s face as a twenty-year-old with age progression. Thanks to the help of the NGO Missing Angels, the Manisco World association and an Italian law firm, the woman she managed to share a new research appeal: “Your absence hurts my soul and I hope to hug you again. Lend me your eyes to find my son and rebuild these 12 lost years”.

After 13 years there was a very sweet happy ending: Dorian returned home and was able to hug his mother again.
